Script control technology

How Original Software technology stands out from the rest

As well as code free testing and self healing technology, Original Software solutions contain a range of other technologies to make the process of script control powerful yet painless.

Variable Data enables one script to simulate multiple business transactions. A file of pre-defined data is created and assigned to the script so that, during playback, different data will be presented with each run. For even more powerful and precise testing, automatically optimised Variable Data is available using our TestSmart module.

Tracked Fields takes this concept to the next level, enabling data created during the running of an application (eg purchase reference numbers) to be captured and used throughout playback.

Action Plans uses script progression logic. Individual scripts can be linked into a sequence to recreate an entire business process. The Action Plans module then enables you to have the sequence of scripts change automatically during playback, according to the Variable Data presented during the run. Action Plans can reflect a whole range of possible scenarios and outcomes - with just one script sequence.

BusySense makes the process of script playback much smoother. You no longer have to have a preset delay for every screen in a script - BusySense will detect when a screen or Web page has loaded properly and will progress to the next stage of the script automatically.

And don't forget that all of the above can be used in tandem with our iSeries server side testing capabilities. Original Software simply offers the most powerful and advanced testing technology you can get. It is all available in the following Original Software solutions:

  GUI application testing

  Web application testing

  IBM green-screen application testing
